Greetings Sigma members,
As we approach the close of 2024, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact Sigma nurses have around the globe. I am deeply inspired by the dedication and passion that you bring to advancing nursing, and it strengthens my commitment to our shared mission.
In celebration of Sigma’s legacy, and in honor of Founders Day this year, I’ve become a Virginia Henderson Fellow through the Sigma Foundation for Nursing, pledging $10,000 over the next five years. This is one of the ways I am personally investing in the future of nursing and the continued success of our organization.
Looking ahead, I’m excited about the opportunities we have to connect and collaborate. On Thursday, 14 November, we have two key virtual events that I hope you will join:
- 2024 Chapter Leadership Connection: A day-long event offering two plenary sessions and more than 20 breakout sessions, this is a valuable opportunity for chapter leaders to engage with Sigma staff and peers to exchange insights and strengthen your leadership roles.
- 2024 Annual Membership Meeting: Open to all members, this meeting provides an overview of Sigma’s progress, with reports from international board members and committee chairs, followed by a Q&A session. Your participation is vital as we work together to shape the future of our organization.
As we move forward, my vision for Sigma is clear: to build on our proud history while ensuring we are positioned to lead the future of nursing. I will continue to provide regular updates through multiple platforms, and I am grateful for everything you do to support Sigma and nursing worldwide.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Luke
