INDIANAPOLIS —The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) will recognize five emerging nurse researchers and scholars at Sigma’s 31st International Nursing Research Congress, 23-27 July 2020, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. On Friday, 24 July 2020, these individuals will be presented with the Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar Award. The awardees represent five of Sigma’s global regions- Africa, Asia, Middle East, North America, and Oceania.
Since 2015, the Emerging Nurse Researcher/Scholar Award has recognized early career nurse researchers and scholars from each of Sigma’s seven global regions whose research or scholarship has influenced the nursing profession and the people it serves.
“I am thrilled to recognize and congratulate these exceptional early career nurses,” said Sigma President Richard Ricciardi, PhD, CRNP, FAANP, FAAN. “I look forward to seeing them boldly blaze new paths over the course of their nursing careers.”
Sigma’s annual congress attracts 800 to 1,200 nurse researchers, students, clinicians, and leaders focused on evidence-based research. The theme for Sigma’s 31st International Nursing Research Congress is Transforming Global Nursing Research and Scholarship Through Connections and Collaborations.
