Honorees will be inducted during the 32nd International Nursing Research Congress
INDIANAPOLIS —Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) will induct 20 world-renowned nurse researchers into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame at Sigma’s 32nd International Nursing Research Congress in July 2021. During the event, these 20 individuals—representing Australia, Canada, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—will be presented with the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame award and participate in a conversation with Sigma’s president.
“These extraordinary nurse researchers embody the broad spectrum of nursing’s impact on global healthcare; their research encompasses the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion, environmental health, reproductive health, and workforce stability,” said Sigma President Richard Ricciardi, PhD, CRNP, FAANP, FAAN. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of them on their induction into the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame.”
This year marks the 12th presentation of this prestigious honor. The 2021 inductees will join 218 previously inducted nurse researchers who have achieved significant and sustained national or international recognition and whose research has improved the profession of nursing and the people it serves.
Wiley has sponsored the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame presentation since its inception.
Vickie Thaw of Wiley Nursing said, “Wiley takes great pride in our sponsorship of Sigma’s International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame awards, which allows us to recognize outstanding nurse researchers like the 20 Hall of Fame inductees being honored this year. For all they have accomplished, and all they will continue to contribute, all of us at Wiley offer our congratulations.”
Sigma’s annual nursing research congress attracts approximately 800 nurse researchers, students, clinicians, and leaders focused on evidence-based research. The theme for the 32nd International Nursing Research Congress is Transforming Global Nursing Research and Scholarship Through Co-Creation, Awareness, Balance, and Purpose.
