Open Space Collaboration Session

Saturday, 29 March 2025

3:10-4:15 p.m. (1510-1615)

We know there are many opportunities to network, collaborate, and share at nursing conferences. But have you ever wanted to informally get together with colleagues and help answer a healthcare question or solve an issue? At Creating Healthy Work Environments, we introduced a new opportunity in 2024—an open space collaboration session—that helps you put your ideas into action!

So, what is an open space collaboration?

This isn’t your traditional, roundtable discussion format. Think beyond the standard brainstorming practices to an informal setting, with no formal seating structure or format. A facilitator will help guide the conversation. Only four rules and one law apply:

Rules

Rule 1

Whoever comes are the right people

Rule 2

Whatever happens is the only thing that could have

Rule 3

Whenever it starts is the right time

Rule 4

When it’s over, it’s over

Law

If, during the course of the gathering, any person finds themselves in a situation where they are neither learning nor contributing, they can go to some more productive place.

This is a safe and welcoming space for all to have a voice while exploring the question in a collaborative way. It will work best if you think critically, reflect honestly, and share openly.

No pre-registration is required for this session.
