Developed by Sigma members, Sigma's Mentoring Cohort will help connect and engage experienced nursing leaders with nurses who would like to build or refine their skills in a structured, virtual cohort environment. Participants will enjoy educational sessions and network with other participants from around the world.

Why should I join as a mentor?


  • Mentors will be matched in a one-to-one relationship with a mentee who is looking for guidance in their career development.
  • Mentors will have access to the Sigma mentor training course. Upon completion you will receive a digital badge denoting you as a Verified Sigma Mentor.

  • Be matched with a experienced nurse mentor, who can assist you in your career development
  • Grow your professional network by connecting with other participants in the program from around the world.

How does this cohort work?

  • Once we have collected all applications, Sigma staff and our Sigma member program leaders will create matches and notify participants of their matches. 
  • Sigma will facilitate monthly cohort calls that will comprise of an educational topic and open discussion time for all participants. 
  • Mentors will have access to a mentor training course that upon completion will give them the status of being a Sigma Verified Mentor. 
   

Frequently Asked Questions

This cohort offers matches with one specific mentor and one specific mentee along with the opportunity to collaborate with the full group of mentors and mentees to learn together and focus on common goals.

Yes. To participate in this group you need to be an active Sigma member for the full duration of the cohort.

No. If you are interested in learning more about a different are of nursing, you can work with a mentor who is experienced in a different specialty than you.

You can meet with your mentors in a number of ways: through email, phone calls/video chat, or face-to-face (if able). Through this program, we will be having monthly calls with the whole cohort, and you will also have the opportunity to network with the other mentors and mentees during these virtual meetings.

During this cohort you will work with one mentor directly; however, during the cohort you will have the opportunity to connect will all participants in this group.
